A report may wait hours for approval. Save the Run in a file Store and read the same Run ID when reopening the application to continue its current wait.
Choose a Store
Records include input, workflow version, Actions, waits, accepted outputs, and status. File Store does not save execution functions or model credentials. Register original definitions and capabilities after restart.
workflow and host use the quickstart definitions. Relative paths resolve from the process working directory. Background services should use a stable absolute path to avoid reading another directory after restart.
Read and resume in a new process
Generate the draft with the quickstart script, exit, and launch a recovery script with the same definitions. The original Run still waits for approval; the completed draft is not regenerated. See user approvals to submit the decision.
runId identifies a business execution. Use a new ID for a new report and retain the original ID when resuming. Repeated starts check existing input and definition; they are not a way to overwrite old tasks.
Upgrade a workflow
Increase the version when changing the graph or step contracts, retaining versions referenced by active Runs. Complete applications also pin dependencies; see distribution and upgrades.
A custom Store must compare revisions and save atomically to prevent two executors from overwriting results. On conflict, read the Run again before choosing the next operation. Do not overwrite state files directly.
Persistence saves committed facts. If an action was dispatched without a result, query the original operation instead of repeating it because no local success is recorded. See unknown-result recovery. Last modified on October 22, 2026
